How to embed audio into blog

  1. To get a flash sound player working on a blog, you should upload an swf player file to the Web. To store your files, you can use Google sites. Create your own website and you’ll be able to attach files and thus store them on the Web. Also, you can choose other file storage spaces from this list. Attach the swf file of your flash sound player to the created website or upload it to another file storage and go to your blog or MySpace profile.

Tips.

  • Make sure that your Google site is shared for public view, otherwise your blog visitors won’t be able to see your flash content.
  • Don’t copy the file link right now, because you have an HTML code of your flash player on the clipboard and you have to paste it first.

  1. Open an HTML editor of your blog post or your MySpace profile editor (in MySpace, HTML tags may be entered in any text field). Paste your player code from the clipboard. It will look like this:

    <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
    codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/
    shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0" height="34" width="84"><param name="movie" value="myplayer.swf"><param name="quality" value="high"><embed src=" myplayer.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" height="34" width="84"></embed></object>

    Then, go to your Google site of file storage and copy the link of the attached swf file. Paste this link into your code as a player source (replace the name of your SWF file with this link):

    <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
    codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/
    shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0" height="34" width="84"><param name="movie" value="myplayer.swf"><param name="quality" value="high"><embed src="http://sites.google.com/site/yourgooglesite/Home/myplayer.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" height="34" width="84"></embed></object>

Tips.

  • To get the link of attached file in Internet Explorer, simply click the file, open it with IE, and copy the link address in the address bar. In Firefox, it’s easier to right click on the file, in the popup menu click "Copy Link Location", and get the link address.
  • 2. While posting your player, you will see nothing in a visual post editor. You’ll see only the code in an HTML editor. Don’t worry, that’s normal. You’ll be able to test player in a post or profile preview.

That’s all, your flash mp3 player is successfully embedded to your blog or MySpace. Enjoy the music! :)

Please note that Google Sites and other web hostings that don't allow to create folders can be used to publish player with embedded sound only, because this player consists of 1 swf file. Players with external sound, which require multiple files to be uploaded, must be stored in one web folder with all accompanying files (xml, mp3). That's why Google Sites can't be used to upload such players.
